The board spent time working on planning for the Spring 2025 season as well as discussing 2025 sponsorships. Finally, the board attended a Positive Coaching Alliance Culture Shaping Workshop and will be taking those lessons to review the league’s mission statement and core values.
Register NOW for Spring Baseball & Softball
Over 400 players have already registered for Cap City‘s Spring 2025 Baseball and Softball season! Keep reading if you haven’t yet registered.
In the Spring season, we encourage players to stay in the same division they played with in the Fall. If your player didn’t play in the Fall, check out info on our baseball or softball divisions to find the best fit based on your player’s age and skill level.
New Registration Platform – Cap City Now Using Sports Connect!
Cap City is now using Sports Connect for registration — in compliance with Little League’s new Central Registration System. To get started:
- Create a Sports Connect account. Click here to register or go to our website: https://capcityll.org/
- Register your player(s) using that same link
- If you are interested in volunteering as a coach or assistant coach, register yourself as a volunteer in the division you’d like to coach in.
Required Documents
- Player: No documents are required to register players. The fields asking for document uploads are optional.
- Volunteer: All volunteers must upload a photo of their driver’s license or gov’t-issued ID. The other document upload fields are optional.
If you have any questions about registration, contact Sarah at registration@capcityll.org
Financial Hardship
Please do not allow the registration fees to affect your child’s ability to participate in Cap City baseball and softball! We provide full scholarships to those who need them – no paperwork required. Email registration@capcityll.org directly to request a scholarship.
We’re looking forward to seeing you on the field this Spring!
Spring Training for Baseball & Softball
Cap City will be offering spring training sessions for all baseball and softball divisions before the official start to the Spring 2025 Season. These sessions will be a fantastic way to shake off the rust, review skills, and see your friends and teammates. More details to come via email, including a discount offer from new Cap City sponsor Woodmont Sports in Bethesda!
Looking for 2025 Sponsors
Do you have a small business that could use additional exposure in NW DC?
Would you like to support non-profit youth baseball and softball, your child’s team, and help keep Cap City registration costs low?
As a sponsor for Cap City Little League, your name will be on the back of jerseys seen at 20 games or more a year by all the families in attendance.

Looking forward to Summer All-Stars Tournaments
All-Stars teams participate in state tournaments and if they advance, continue to compete at regional tournaments. As in years past, Cap City plans to field four (4) all-stars teams. There will be three baseball all-star teams – 10U for players little league ages 10 and under, 11U for players little league ages 11 and under and 12U for players little league ages 12 and under. We will also field a softball all-star team for league ages 12 and under (12U).
All-Stars teams play in a DC State Little League (DCLL) Tournament. Teams that win these tournaments advance to a regional tournament. For the 12U teams, those that win at the regional tournaments advance to the Little League World Series. Players that make the all-stars teams are expected to be available for daily practices and scrimmages as well as their division’s DCLL Tournament. Players on the 12U teams are expected to be available for their division’s regional tournament.
We will provide dates for these tournaments as soon as we have them. We know many families are already making plans for summer vacations and sleepaway camps.
Eligibility
- Baseball: Only players registered in Cap City’s Spring 2025 AAA and Majors divisions are eligible to be considered for an all-stars team. Players must play in at least eight (8) out of a minimum of twelve (12) scheduled regular season games.
- Softball: Only players registered in Cap City’s Spring 2025 Majors/12U softball division are eligible to be considered for the all-stars team. Players must play in at least eight (8) out of a minimum of twelve (12) scheduled regular season games.
Estimated Timeline
The DC State Little League (DCLL) Tournaments, which take place in D.C., are scheduled by DCLL (not Cap City). In the past, these tournaments have taken place from mid-June to mid-July. If there is any chance your player is interested in trying out for All Stars, we suggest keeping these dates open. Typically, the 12U softball tournament is first, followed by the 10U, 11U, and then 12U baseball tournaments. However, past dates are no guarantee of what will happen this summer.
If a Cap City team wins their DCLL Championship, they will advance to their regional tournaments. Last year, the dates for these regional tournaments ranged from the last week of July to the second week of August.
Cap City Gear Exchange
The Cap City gear exchange Google Group is live! We created it to provide a forum for you to buy, sell, or gift baseball or softball gear your player has outgrown. Save money and do a good thing for the planet by buying used instead of new, and give those cleats, gloves, and bats a new lease on life rather than having them take up space in your basement or closets.
To join the group, go to https://groups.google.com/g/cap–city-gear-exchange and click the, “Ask to join group” button. Once you’ve been added, you can email members of the group with what you’re looking for or what you have to sell or gift. You can also view past messages on the group page.
Please join and help us make this a useful resource!
