July 2024 News

Hello Cap City Little League Families, Friends, and Fans,

Hope your summer is going well. It is hard to believe that Fall baseball and softball is just around the corner! Details below.

The DC 12U baseball All-Star tournament is happening this week, with the winner advancing to the Little League World Series East regional tournament. Keep track of our team through Cap City’s Facebook and Instagram accounts. #WeareCapCity

We are very proud of our Softball, 10U baseball, and 11U baseball teams, all of whom competed hard and represented Cap City well on the city stage in their respective tournaments. Thanks to Sara Bornstein (softball), Sam McFerran (10u), Josh Novikoff (11u), and Luke Jones (12u) for volunteering as managers, and to all of your assistant coaches and other volunteers. A special thanks to those whose groundskeeping work helped make Chevy Chase Field look pristine each night during the DC 11u tournament!

Thanks as well to Felix Lloyd for serving a second year as All Star coordinator; helping demystify the process for families and provide his sage advice as a prior 12u baseball coach to the Board and managers.

Cap City Gear Exchange

The Cap City gear exchange Google Group is now live! We created it to provide a forum for you to buy, sell, or gift baseball or softball gear your player has outgrown. Save money and do a good thing for the planet by buying used instead of new, and give those cleats, gloves, and bats a new lease on life rather than having them take up space in your basement or closets.

To join the group, go to https://groups.google.com/g/cap-city-gear-exchange and click the, “Ask to join group” button. Once you’ve been added, you can email members of the group with what you’re looking for or what you have to sell or gift. You can also view past messages on the group page.

Please join and help us make this a useful resource!
